Good news for all fans of “Stranger Things”: Production on the fifth season of the successful Netflix series is expected to start in early January 2024. This is reported by the US industry portal “Deadline”.
According to several unnamed sources, January 8, 2024 is specifically planned as the start date. Production was recently delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood. The writers of the series also took part in the strike, which is why not a single scene has been filmed yet. The scripts were already finished when the strike began. However, the series creators Matt and Ross Duffer (39) decided to postpone production for the time being because otherwise the filming would have had to take place without writers and executive producers.
According to “Deadline”, it can now be assumed that the actors are already in Atlanta for preparations, where “Stranger Things” is being filmed. David Harbor (48) suggested something similar at an event in Los Angeles in November. Police Chief actor Jim Hopper said of his plans after the Hollywood strike, according to Variety: “I mean, we have to film the final season of ‘Stranger Things,’ right? I have to be down there in a few days. We “We have to get going – we’re late.”
The fifth season tells the end of the story about the youth group from Indiana. The fourth season of the production with Noah Schnapp (19) and Millie Bobby Brown (19) is currently in second place among the most successful English-language Netflix series.
