Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden (45) is the most popular among princesses and queens of her generation. This was the result of a Kantar-Public survey by the magazine “Frau im Spiegel”, in which 1007 women in Germany were asked about their favourites.
A total of 14 percent of those surveyed named Victoria, scoring particularly well with the over-30s. Her mother, Queen Silvia (79), who was born in Heidelberg, is probably responsible for this top position.
The Swedish heir to the throne and mother of two is popular – her children are Princess Estelle (10) and Prince Oscar (6) – but also because of her personality. She is regarded as unassuming and conscientious and completes her appointments with a lot of charm.
Queen Máxima (51) of the Netherlands took second place in the ranking with 13 percent of respondents. The majority of the German respondents appreciate the fun-loving nature of the native Argentine. Things are a bit different in their own country: After a renewed increase in the allowance and many private trips, the polls among the Dutch are falling. Only every second should stand behind the monarchy.
Princess Kate (40) comes in third place on the popularity scale with twelve percent. She supports Prince William (40), is celebrated for her style and lovingly takes care of her children George (9), Charlotte (7) and Louis (4). According to the magazine, the reason why she did not end up higher in the royal ranking is that she “often seems perfectionist and controlled,” “some of them probably lack rough edges or the fire like Máxima,” says the statement .
The other ranks are followed by Duchess Meghan (41), Crown Princess Mette-Marit (49) and Crown Princess Mary (50), each with four percent.
Princesses Sofia of Sweden (38) and Madeleine of Sweden (40) share fifth place with three percent each. Queen Letizia (50) finishes sixth with one percent.
Bottom of the table are Princess Charlène of Monaco (44) and Belgium’s Queen Mathilde (49), each with zero percent.
