Soccer professional and national player Joshua Kimmich has a guest appearance in Munich’s “Tatort” in just over five weeks. In the ARD Sunday thriller “Hackl” (announced for March 12), the FC Bayern star is briefly interviewed as a fitness trainer in a 24/7 studio. Kimmich had a total of one day of shooting, as the Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) reported to the dpa. The crime thriller was filmed from April 20 to May 20, 2022. “We were extremely happy about Joshua Kimmich’s general interest in the ‘Tatort’ productions and were happy to be able to offer him a small but fine role,” said BR “Tatort” editor Cornelius Conrad.

“Joshua Kimmich plays Kenny, a fitness trainer who works at the gym where the dead motorcyclist’s brother trains,” says Conrad. Kalli Hammermann begins to investigate the dead man’s immediate surroundings and therefore questions Kenny, “who leaves a lasting impression on him and ‘accompanies’ Kalli for the rest of the film. Of course we don’t want to reveal too much here.”

When assistant Kalli (Ferdinand Hofer) enters the fitness center after a good 8 (of 89) minutes of the film, the first thing to say is “Servus” – “Servus” – “But there’s no camera surveillance, is there?” – “No one needs to be afraid here,” says Kimmich in his role. He wears a mustache and a functional T-shirt. In the mixer he makes himself a bright green woodruff shake. He cannot provide a list of all those who have checked in since the previous evening – the device is defective.

The thriller is about a fatal motorcycle accident involving young Adam in the middle of the night in the Hasenbergl district of Munich. Adam Moser lived in a small bungalow in the middle of the high-rise buildings in the area. In the course of the investigation, detectives Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec) and Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl) meet the grumbler “Hackl”, played by Burghart Klaußner. He lives in the neighboring house and is “a well-known troublemaker whose anger potential is not only notorious among the Munich police: Did he have something against Adam? Enough that he had to die?”.
