A big chain of restaurants is now taking non-traditional means in use to reduce the number of sick leaves of the employees.
When the employees claim they are sick, it must be assessed by a nurse.
The case of the many thousands of employees in the chain of Chipotle Mexican Grill, which has 2,500 restaurants in the UNITED states.
“We have nurses available by phone, so if you say ‘Hi, I have been sick’, you are put on to the nurse,” told director Brian Niccol in this week, according to CBS News.
“the Nurse check that it is not just a hangover – that you really are sick – and so we pay for a day off,” explained the top manager of the chain.

After the director’s statements have been taken up by the american press, the chain has once again tried to explain why the nurses is necessary.
The new measures are due according to the chain, will provide for increased hygiene in the restaurants ‘ kitchens.
Chipotle Mexican Grill saw in 2017, that guests had acute diarrhea and threw up due to an outbreak of norovirus in a restaurant in the state of Virginia.
An investigation of the matter concluded that, among other things, was due to a sick employee, who in spite of his illness had taken on work.
the Chain has had a number of similar cases, but now the nurses therefore be to assess how sick the employees are.
“When an employee report serious symptoms to his boss, will a team of nurses to follow up on the matter and check how sick they are,” said Kerry Bridges, deputy director for food safety, to Business Insider.
