Khloé Kardashian had skin cancer. On Tuesday, she explained to fans and followers on her Instagram story that a tumor had been removed from her face. At the same time, she was reacting to “the numerous rumors” that would revolve around the patches on her face, as one post says.
“After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a pimple, I decided seven months later to have a biopsy after noticing it was not changing,” Kardashian said .
A few days later she was told she needed immediate surgery and the tumor was removed. “You will continue to see my patches and you will likely see a scar (and a dent in my cheek from the tumor that was removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I make these patches look.”
With her story, Kardashian also calls on her fans to get checked up regularly. So it wasn’t her first skin surgery. “I had a melanoma on my back when I was 19 and I also had surgery to have it removed.” She would pile on sunscreen on a daily basis, but “no one is exempt from those things,” she goes on to point out. Her appeal: “Please take this seriously and carry out regular self-examinations and annual examinations.”
However, Kardashian closes her post with optimism: “I’m so grateful that we realized this early on. I was lucky, all that’s left is a scar to tell a story with. Most people aren’t as lucky as me, and I am forever grateful.”
