“Damn excited” Rea Garvey (50) announces his “HALO” arena tour on Instagram, which will take the Irish musician back to the big concert halls in April and May 2024. He will present the songs from the new album of the same name.
“The word HALO means so many different things to so many different people, from video games to a glowing circle over a saint’s head,” Garvey writes, adding his own meaningful interpretation: “For me personally, HALO defines who you are . It is the light you bring into the world and the darkness you went through to get there. It is the wisdom you give to others and the strength others have given you.”
It is the biggest tour he has been on so far, in some of the biggest halls he has ever played in. “I’m so damn excited,” writes Garvey about the seven appearances from Munich (April 21st) to Cologne (April 24th), Frankfurt (April 25th), Berlin (April 27th), Hamburg (April 29th) and Stuttgart (May 2nd) to to Vienna (04.05.). “I feel like I’m going on a first date, I’m excited, nervous and uncontrollably happy at the same time,” admits the musician and popular “The Voice of Germany” coach.
The fact that this announcement affects him so much is obviously also indirectly due to Corona. Without mentioning the pandemic, he further explains in his gushing post: “We were booked for a tour like this in 2019. Me and the band, like so many other bands, went into the rehearsal room and prepared for shows that would never happen.” said Garvey. “It’s like we’ve been preparing for this arena tour for over five years and NOW it’s actually happening!” he says happily.
