On its second evening on linear television, the ecological thriller “Der Schwarm” had significantly fewer viewers than at the start. An average of 5.37 million people (20.1 percent) tuned in to the second double episode of the eight-part series on ZDF on Tuesday evening.
6.8 million were there on Monday. Further double episodes (twice 45 minutes) were on the program on Wednesday and Thursday evening. Bestselling author Frank Schätzing is not very enthusiastic about the film adaptation of his material, which was published about 20 years ago, as he revealed in interviews. The series about nature’s revenge is an international co-production under the leadership of ZDF.
