Even on the public holiday, the Friday thriller attracted by far the most viewers during prime time on German television. On average, 6.23 million watched the ZDF series “Der Alte”, which corresponded to a market share of 23.6 percent. So that was almost every fourth person who watched TV from 8.15 p.m. on Good Friday at all. It was the third episode with the new “old” Thomas Heinze. The episode “The Last Chance” was about the death of a beer garden waiter.
RTL came in second from 8:15 p.m. with 2.82 million viewers (12.6 percent) with its dance show, in which there was no live dancing on Good Friday, but instead it said “15 years of “Let’s Dance” – dances, pictures “emotions”.
The ARD cancer drama “And then someone gets up and opens the window” with Iris Berben in the first channel reached 2.41 million (9.2 percent).
They were followed by the Sat.1 talent show “The Voice Kids” (1.92 million; 7.6 percent), the western comedy classic “Four Fists for a Hallelujah” with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill on Kabel Eins (1.54 million; 6th .1 percent) and the sci-fi action film “Ready Player One” on ProSieben (970,000; 3.9 percent).
ZDFneo reached 790,000 viewers (3.0 percent) with “Men in Black 3”, RTLzwei with the PS action film “The Fast And the Furious – Tokyo Drift” on average 760,000 (3.0 percent) and Vox with the fantasy and girl power film “Ghostbusters” from 2016 averaged 740,000 (2.9 percent).
On Good Friday afternoon, ARD and ZDF scored with monumental films: 1.10 million (9.4 percent) saw the 70-year-old Jesus film classic “Das Gewand” with Richard Burton from 1.45 p.m. on the second.
And 1.47 million (11.4 percent) watched the three and a half hour Bible film “The Ten Commandments” with Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner from 2:50 p.m. on the first.
Incidentally, ZDF showed the 60-year-old feature film “Winnetou” with Pierre Brice, Lex Barker, Marie Versini, Mario Adorf, Ralf Wolter and many others in the morning. After all, 900,000 viewers (9.6 percent) saw the western classic from 11.50 a.m.
