Class reunion of the “Pulp Fiction” stars at the TCM Classic Film Festival. The film festival in Los Angeles starts on April 18, 2024 with a special screening of Quentin Tarantino’s (61) cult film. The actors from the gangster flick have announced themselves as guests of honor. At first there was only talk of a visit from John Travolta (70). The disco icon of the 70s made a comeback with “Pulp Fiction”.
Several of Travolta’s co-stars have now confirmed their support. As “The Hollywood Reporter” reports, Uma Thurman (53), Samuel L. Jackson (75), Rosanna Arquette (64), Harvey Keitel and Eric Stolz (62) are coming. There are also various producers and other makers behind the camera.
However, the names of two stars who had a decisive influence on “Pulp Fiction” are missing. So far there has been no mention of Quentin Tarantino himself. Bruce Willis (69) is not expected to take part. The action star, who was able to show a new facet of himself in “Pulp Fiction,” is suffering from a rare form of early dementia.
The reason for the reunion is a big birthday for “Pulp Fiction”. Almost exactly thirty years ago, on May 21, 1994, the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. “Pulp Fiction” was released in US cinemas on October 14th, followed in Germany on November 3rd.
“Pulp Fiction” instantly became a modern, style-defining classic: an innovative mix of a convoluted, non-chronological narrative, a retro soundtrack and dialogue that was both cool and casually everyday. The class of “Pulp Fiction” was immediately recognized; it won the Palme d’Or in Cannes. At the Oscars, Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary (58) won an Academy Award for their screenplay.
