Two appointments have already burst, now it should work: From Tuesday (12.00 p.m.) the civil suit of the former tennis star Boris Becker against the TV comedian Oliver Pocher will be heard in front of the Offenburg district court. Becker wants to ensure that Pocher is no longer allowed to show a TV report from the RTL program “Pocher – dangerously honest”. (Az: 2 O 20/21)

Neither Pocher (44) nor Becker (54), who is in a British prison for delaying bankruptcy, have to appear in court in Offenburg (Ortenaukreis). It is still unclear when a verdict will be passed, as a court spokeswoman said.

In the controversial post, a call for donations was launched under the slogan “Make Boris rich again”. According to the court, it can be seen that Becker also received the money – but without knowing about it. The money was incorporated into a supposed fashion prize that Becker was awarded on the show.

Hidden in prize trophy

“The plaintiff did not know that the prize was created and awarded to the plaintiff for the sole purpose of sending him the collected cash amount – hidden in the prize trophy,” a court spokeswoman explained in the summer. Hearings in May and July fell through because those involved in the proceedings were ill.

Becker’s lawyer Samy Hammad said the former Wimbledon winner was “degraded and insulted” in the post. Becker was also not asked before the broadcast, as Hammad reported to the German Press Agency. Becker and Hammad therefore demand that the post is no longer sent and deleted from the Internet. “It’s about an omission,” Hammad said.

Pocher’s Hamburg lawyer Patricia Cronemeyer said on request that Pocher had not once insulted Becker in the post. The ex-tennis star was not degraded either. There is no basis for an omission. As far as she knows, the TV show is no longer available online, Cronemeyer explained.
