Princess Kate (41) has shown her athletic ability on the rugby field. Prince William’s wife (40) visited the Maidenhead Rugby Club west of London on Wednesday (June 7) – and took part in a training session on the occasion, as reported by “Express” among other things.

On the field, the Princess of Wales cut a fine figure in a light blue England Rugby Ladies jersey, dark blue track pants and white trainers. Professional player Danny Care (36) and former rugby professional Ugo Monye (40) also attended the training game.

Princess Kate has been patron of the British Rugby Football Union since early 2022 – a role she took over from her brother-in-law Prince Harry (38). The Duke of Sussex gave up this role when he and his wife Duchess Meghan (41) resigned from their royal duties more than three years ago.

However, the visit to Maidenhead Rugby Club also coincided with the “Shaping Us” campaign that Kate launched earlier this year. With her, the Princess of Wales wants to draw attention to the importance of early childhood development for later life.

Having spent time with mothers and carers to this end in the past, Kate spoke to the male players present after her rugby training session about early childhood experiences, fatherhood and the importance of local sports clubs in raising children.
