According to media reports, Duchess Meghan (42) and Prince Harry (39) have extended their European trip with a stopover in Portugal. After their stay in Germany at the beginning of September, they apparently made another stop before the plane went back to California. This is now reported by the Portuguese magazine “Nova Gente”.
During their short vacation in Portugal, it is believed that the couple also spent time with the Duke’s cousin, Princess Eugenie (33), who lives temporarily in Portugal. Last year it was revealed that Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, 37, had taken a new job in Portugal, meaning the family and their sons August, 2, and Ernest, 4 months, now split their time between the UK and Portugal.
Although Harry and Meghan moved to the United States in 2020 after announcing they would step back from royal duties, they are said to have maintained close ties with cousins Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie. According to insiders, they are “still best friends and talk to each other all the time,” as People magazine wants to know.
However, the fact that the relationship between Prince Harry and his cousins has endured after the break with royal duties only recently became clear at King Charles’ coronation ceremony on May 6th of this year: There he entered Westminster Abbey smiling. Because he spent the ceremony primarily with Princess Beatrice, her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (39), Princess Eugenie and Jack.
Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie are also close in other ways and often spend time at events together. The two were seen together at the Super Bowl in California in February 2022. His cousin Eugenie is also the only member of the British royal family to appear in the Netflix documentary “Harry and Meghan: The Making of a Modern Royal Family.” In the series, the princess is seen playing on the beach with Harry and Meghan’s son, Prince Archie (4).
