Post Malone (28) spent a fortune on a single card in the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. A video on social media shows Brook Trafton, who found the card, with the singer and rapper.
Visibly touched, the man in the clip hugs the musician. “This is my dream come true. Meeting Post Malone and having him buy the One Ring ticket from me is literally a fairy tale moment,” Trafton wrote. The trading card is only available once. As the name suggests, it shows the One Ring from J. R. R. Tolkien’s (1892-1973) seminal fantasy epic “The Lord of the Rings”.
The trading card game’s publisher, Wizards of the Coast, and the rapper changed his life, Trafton explains. Things like that didn’t usually happen to people like him. The man is a retail worker from Toronto, Canada, reports the broadcaster CBC. Trafton has confirmed that the singer bought the unique “The One Ring” card for 2.64 million Canadian dollars – the equivalent of around 1.8 million euros.
Apparently he doesn’t want all that money to go to his head. After Trafton gave interviews, a normal shift awaited him. He sees it as an investment in his future: “And if I feel like I can no longer work or maybe want to try something else, I can do that.”
