A young nurse has disappeared, chief inspector Doreen Brasch (Claudia Michelsen) quickly suspects the gardener Markus Wegner (Sascha Alexander Geršak). In an interrogation, he actually claims to have killed the woman – and even admits to another murder for which another man has been in prison for several years. Brasch was the investigating commissioner at the time – and now believes in investigation errors. Against the will of the public prosecutor, she bites into the case. She tries to get to the man through Wegner’s wife (Laura Tonke) – thereby risking her job and even her life.
This thriller vividly shows the destructive violence of psychopaths. “The Condemned” introduces a perpetrator whose aggressiveness oozes from every pore – and who has an almost toxic effect on those around him. Worth seeing.
“The Condemned” has become a dark, sometimes brutal piece of television. For some viewers, however, what is shown might be a bit too intense. The images haunt you for a long time. Therefore, this thriller is not recommended for everyone.
Since Sylvester Groth left as Commissioner Drexler, Doreen Brasch has been on her own. Which brings with it several problems: the investigator, who tends to go it alone anyway, is now increasingly biting into her cases. Even the viewer doesn’t always know what’s going on in her mind.
Anyone who is ready to descend into the dark cellar of the human abyss should tune in.
