Mourning for Peter Hardy (1957-2023): The Australian actor died unexpectedly a few days ago at the age of 66. Hardy’s brother Michael confirmed the death in a statement: “I am devastated. My brother Peter Hardy passed away suddenly this morning. Rest in peace my beloved little brother.”

According to several media reports, Hardy was found lifeless in the water on a beach in Fremantle near Perth on Australia’s west coast. Eyewitnesses tried to revive him until an ambulance appeared – but without success. The actor apparently drowned while snorkeling. Shortly before, he is said to have shared a few photos of his trip to the beach via Facebook.

Hardy has been a sought-after actor in Australian productions since the 1980s. The television series “McLeod’s Daughters”, in which he was seen in 44 episodes as Phil Rakich, made him known worldwide. Most recently he was in front of the camera for the films “Dangerous Remedy” (2012) and “Hard Target 2” (2016).
