Actor Bjarne Mädel (“The Crime Scene Cleaner”) chose his profession out of an interest in people. “I do this because I have something to say – and above all because I find people exciting. Some people may become doctors because they want to get to know the human body in detail. As an actor, I am lucky enough to see people in their entirety to study,” the 55-year-old told the German Press Agency in Hamburg. “I like doing this because I can put everything I am into it. I can use my imagination, my intellect, my body, my voice, my soul – everything I am and have. And I think that’s great .”

There may also be hidden, deeper reasons for his choice, the cult actor continued. “Maybe it was – like everyone who is in the public eye – the desire to be loved. And not to be lonely, but to be understood.” But Mädel emphasized that he doesn’t have to work through internal problems with his job. “In any case, I don’t do it because I personally can’t deal with certain things and therefore have to use my roles as therapy.”

The artist, who lives in Berlin, can be seen not only as a leading actor but also as a director on Wednesday, October 18th at 8:15 p.m. on ARD. In “Sörensen Catches Fire” based on the novel by Sven Stricker, Mädel investigates for the second time as a corrupt inspector in a town on the North Sea. Other contributors include Karoline Eichhorn, Michael Maertens and Joachim Meyerhoff.
