Numerous gowns belonging to Princess Diana (1961-1997) are to be sold at an auction in Los Angeles. These include several evening dresses that Diana wore in the late 1980s and could fetch several hundred thousand dollars each, said the auction house Julien’s, which presented the pieces at a preview at New York’s Carlyle Hotel in a suite where the princess often stayed had stayed overnight.

The auction scheduled for June 27th also includes shoes, handbags, hats and gloves that belonged to William and Harry’s mother. It is said to be one of the largest auctions of pieces worn by Diana since her death in a car accident in 1997.
