US reality star and model Paris Hilton (41) says she was sexually abused as a student at a boarding school. At around 3 or 4 a.m., male staff from the Provo Canyon, Utah, school walked into her room and took her and other girls for alleged medical exams.
Hilton said so in a New York Times video Tuesday, in which others also shared their experiences at similar youth therapy facilities.
According to the New York Times, Hilton had these experiences in the 1990s when her parents sent her to therapeutic boarding school. “Then they put us on tables and put their fingers inside us,” Hilton said in the video, visibly shaken and close to tears for a few moments. “It was definitely not a doctor.”
She suppressed it for years, but it always comes back: “And now, when I look back as an adult, it was definitely sexual abuse.” Hilton has been campaigning for the Utah school to be closed for a long time. She was also physically and mentally abused there.
Hilton also wrote about these experiences on Twitter. She was deprived of sleep and pumped full of medication and didn’t understand what was going on. When she was forced to spread her legs on a padded table for a cervical exam, she cried, screamed and said “no.” “They just said: Shut up!”
Her childhood was stolen from her, Hilton continued. It breaks her that this is still happening to innocent children.
