Although the musician Joachim Witt (74, “Goldener Reiter”) has now committed himself to the New German Hardness and is also active in synth-pop, the Hamburg native prefers other music in his private life.
At home he primarily listens to chillout and smooth jazz and everything that appeals to his heart or the dance spirit, Witt told the German Press Agency in Hamburg. “Music always remains a mirror of the soul.”
Joachim Witt became known in 1981 with “Goldener Reiter” and, after a long break, catapulted himself back into the music business at the end of the 1990s. He has currently released a special edition of his album “Der Fels in der Brandung” with five new songs.
Witt is considered one of the most important representatives of the Neue Deutsche Welle. He celebrates his 75th birthday on February 22nd. It’s clear to the Hamburg native: “I’ll celebrate in a smaller circle, with a view of the water.”
