Around three months after the publication of her memoirs, US singer Britney Spears (42) apologized for “some things” in it. “I want to apologize for some things I wrote about in my book,” Spears wrote on Instagram on Monday night. “If I have offended any of the people I truly care about, then I am deeply sorry.”

Spears also praised her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake’s new single in the post: “I also wanted to say that I love Justin Timberlake’s new song “Selfish”,” the singer wrote. “He’s so good.” Timberlake, with whom Spears was a couple from 1999 to 2002, released the single a few days ago.

Accusations against Timberlake in the memoir

In her memoir “The Woman in Me – My Story”, published in October, Spears wrote, among other things, that she became pregnant by the musician during her relationship with Timberlake and had an abortion at his urging. Later, Timberlake distanced himself more and more and ended the relationship via text message. Timberlake initially had no comment on the matter.

Spears, who has received multiple platinum records and Grammy Awards, is one of the most successful artists in music history. In 2008, her father Jamie Spears took over guardianship of the musician after she had a mental breakdown due to private and professional problems. In 2021, the pop icon was released from this guardianship after a long legal battle.
