The two satirical shows “heute-show” and “ZDF Magazin Royale” are currently on summer break, but a replacement on Friday evening is provided. On June 23, the Mainz broadcaster will launch the new sketch comedy “Wir sind die Meiers” (10:30 p.m.) and the second season of the “ZDF Comedy Summer” (10:55 p.m.).
“A wild mixture of characters, absurd situations and topics – like at any family celebration. Only more absurd and fun,” says ZDF, describing its new eight-part sketch comedy. The special thing about the new format: the 13-person ensemble appears in several roles thanks to the elaborate make-up.
For example, Matthias Matschke (54) is transformed into “Ron Meier, a hot couple’s masseur, Christian F. Meier, an unscrupulous top Berlin politician, and Guido Meier, a hapless tourist guide.” “‘We are the Meiers’ is like all of us! And that is a golden task for every performer,” says Matschke happily. “Lots of characters that all have in common that they live together in a society. There is love, hate, desperation and confidence. To present all of this in a funny way is a delight!”
Other stars include Valerie Niehaus (48), Bettina Lamprecht (46), Simon Pearce (42), Jasmin Schwiers (40) and Jürgen Tarrach (62). The eight episodes will be broadcast on Fridays at 10:30 p.m. Two episodes will air on August 4th.
Immediately afterwards, “Der ZDF Comedy Sommer” awaits. The six new episodes trump with a lot of celebrities from German stand-up comedy. Each issue is moderated by a different artist.
Torsten Sträter (56) is the first. The storyteller opens the “ZDF Comedy Sommer” and explains, among other things, “the risks and side effects of ‘crowd work'”, as the broadcaster said in advance. On stage he welcomes the comedians Maxi Gstettenbauer (35), Lisa Feller (47) and Tony Bauer.
In the second episode (June 30), Till Reiners (38) leads through the evening, his guests are Christian Ehring (50), Negah Amiri (29) and shooting star Alex Stoldt (24). The other hosts are Michael Mittermeier (57), Olaf Schubert (55), Abdelkarim (41) and Tahnee (31).
