September 10, 1898: At the Hotel Beau Rivage on Lake Geneva, Empress Sisi prepares to leave in the best luxury suite. The 60-year-old lets her maid fix her hat in her hair, which she has braided into a crown, and leaves the room. The hotel manager is already waiting in the lobby to say goodbye to the Empress. But Her Majesty quickly rushes out with her lady-in-waiting to the steamboat pier in front of the hotel. Nobody suspects that there is a deadly danger lurking outside on the waterfront.
