At first glance, it looks as if you would a step-wise approach: After in the summer of 2019 was the EP “The Lonely to comfort” published by Sarah Lesch, the new, meanwhile fourth Album “solitude of the Brave”. Actually an interesting development between the two works is. As Lesch-produced the first song, it was by his own admission, very lonely – she found solace in her songs. However, there was a Phase in which she wanted to quit when she had enough of sitting during your tours again and again, alone in hotel rooms. “My solitude has made me bitter and in Spite of I made then. Giving up was never an Option,” explains Lesch to the Agency as a tele look at the emergence of “The loneliness of the Brave”.

your twelve new Songs, the stories, the touch, and encourage thought-provoking, it’s time to create the same but also, and to give encouragement to tell. With a trendy chanting, and sometimes slower, sometimes faster guitar accompaniment, sporadically accompanied by instruments such as the piano, accordion or drums, picks out the 34-Year-old with the clear voice of everyday situations, encounters, and conflicts from their lives, transforming them with apparent ease in the pictures, and then with her vivid language in music.

In the Opener, “The pink elephant” tells the mother of a son from a pink elephant at the dinner table that no one is talking about – the for all to see, but it has been concealed. In “prey in the stomach” she sings about a saber-toothed tiger that sneaks around the house, if you can’t sleep. On impermanence, she philosophizes in “Osmotic autumn song”: “waiting for all these great moments, and then the simple past, such as roller coaster rides and math exams, and of love and eggs to go. We are only on this world as a fence guests of the finiteness?” In “the day the flood came” establishes a connection between the flooded basements in the present, and the climate change in the future. “And if it’s true what everyone is saying that the polar ice caps melt, then the mainland will probably be sometime quite narrow. I guess the basement was a Practice for the time when it is critical”, she sings.

live like a snail, to find treasures

Sarah Lesch of the Text is in the foreground, the music is adorned and supported. And this is already for a long time: a trained teacher and published in 2012 their first Album “songs from the dirty kitchen”, then followed “Of muses and a Sailor” (2015) and “out There” (in 2017). It is well-known for their figurative language, their deep stories and their unsparing reappraisal of social problems. In their most famous Song “Testament” (2016), with which they won the protest song contest in Vienna, and has so far reached more than seven million clicks on YouTube, she sang for over five minutes long-about the coarsening of society.

life holds many stories – you have to just take the time to discover this. “If you manage to live everyday life like a snail, then you will automatically many of the small treasures, from which you can conjure up amazing things.” Sarah Lesch can. And whoever comes out, finds, and a little wisdom or advice in their lyrics. “Talk is silver, Silence is cowardly” (“The pink elephant”), “certainty is not reliable” (“Osmotic autumn song”) – or in “The loneliness of the Brave”: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, and the next best time is now”.
