Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon (49) cycled to work for a day. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the campaign “Sykle til jobben” (roughly: cycling to work), the Norwegian heir to the throne covered the impressive 20-kilometer route from the Skaugum estate to the royal palace in Oslo on Wednesday in bright sunshine on a sporty bike return.

For the last few kilometers, Haakon was accompanied by representatives of the Norwegian company sports association, which organizes the event. As part of the campaign, he and his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit (49), had already completed the same route in 2012.

“I took it easy and relaxed, and it was good cycling weather,” said Haakon upon arrival at the castle. According to the royal family, he needed a good 80 minutes for the route.
