Herrehåndboldlandstræner Nikolaj Jacobsen has just been named to this Year’s Coach of 2019.
the Prize is awarded by B. T. in cooperation with the consultancy Coachers, and it is 15. time, the prize is awarded.
“It makes me of course happy in relation to some of the colleagues who have voted on one, seems to have done a good job. It is always a little extra happy when you win an award – that it is one’s own people, if one can say it like that,” says Nikolaj Jacobsen.

At the tournament won the Danish herrelandshold all 10 matches quite convincingly, including semifinalesejren at 38-30 over France as well as finalesejren at 31-22 over Norway.
Previous winners of the award include names like Åge Hareide, Jan Activities, Stale Solbakken and Kenneth Jonassen.
A jury consisting of 25 managers and coaches from the Danish elite sport has found a winner among the four nominees, they have been able to vote on. The other nominees were banecyklinglandstræner Casper Jørgensen, laser radial coach, Piotr Wojewski and coach in road cycling, Anders Lund.
The four nominees have been nominated by a dommerkomité consisting of Mikael Trolle, Ulrik Wilbek, Victor Feddersen, J Martin, Preben Braagaard from the Coachers, B. T. s team he will play, Søren Hanghøj, and B. T.’s editor-in-chief, Michael Dyrby.
“Nikolaj Jacobsen is a fully deserved winner of this Year’s Coach. It is he, of course, because he håndboldherrernes WORLD cup gold on home soil has created a unique and memorable result and a euphoria of many danes. But he also wins because he is very much living up to its purpose of creating human growth and development,” says B. T. s sportchef Søren Hanghøj, who is the president of the jury, and continues:
“Nikolaj Jacobsen has created a strong and evolving environment around a group of very talented players. It led him and Denmark for an impressive performance and a WORLD cup medal. It deserves every tribute and the price of that Year, the Trainer.”
With the price follows a gift of 30,000 dollars, of which the 20,000 crowns comes from the Coachers. It goes to trænerudvikling within the Danish Handball Federation. The 10,000 dkk from B. T. goes to Nikolaj Jacobsen, as he himself can manage to a purpose within håndboldens the world.
