Nicolas Cage (59) plays Count Dracula in the new horror comedy “Renfield”. It is about the eponymous servant of the bloodsucker, Renfield (Nicholas Hoult, 33), who wants to break away from his employer after decades of torment. The eccentric Dracula doesn’t like his butler’s new way of doing things, however, and decides to harm everyone Renfield cares about. And that is exactly what becomes a big problem for him: After all, Renfield recently fell in love with a police officer (Awkwafina, 34).
The final trailer shows Cage in his prime as the fearsome Count Dracula. His face is pale, he wears a denture full of fangs and his black hair is gelled back. In addition, he has long fingernails, his eyes are always wide open and his clothes are noble and somber.
“Renfield, your only purpose in life is to serve me,” Dracula is heard saying in the teaser. However, his faithful companion turns to a support group to break away from his narcissistic boss. From April 20th, cinema-goers will see whether he will finally achieve his long-desired freedom.
