American actor Jonah Hill suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for more than 20 years. He kept going to therapists and tried different forms of treatment, but that didn’t help him get his anxiety disorder under control. The pattern of therapy has always been similar, Hill says. “I would talk and the therapist would listen. Sometimes he’d ask, ‘How does that feel?’ Or he’d throw in ‘Interesting.’
“I paid him to save my problems for me,” says Jonah Hill. A frustrating experience because of course the 38-year-old was desperate for practical advice that could help him to better manage his mental health problems.
