For more than 25 years she was Natalia Klitschko (48), the wife of former world boxing champion and current mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko (51). But after the separation from her estranged husband, that should be the end of it. She would like to take her maiden name again: Natalia Yegorova. The 48-year-old told the “Spiegel” in an interview. “I will go back to my previous last name,” she said.
People should know that she has borne the name Klitschko, but she doesn’t want to be referred to as the “ex-wife” for years to come. “I want them to say: This is Natalia Yegorova, whom we have called Natalia Klitschko for 25 years,” explained the still-wife of the ex-athlete and current politician.
In mid-August 2022, Vitali Klitschko and Natalia Yegorova announced their separation. This was done by mutual consent, the divorce had already been filed. They have a “very good relationship with each other” and respect each other. But you’ve been living separately in different cities for a long time; Vitali in Kyiv, Natalia in Hamburg.
In 1996, the then sports professional and former model Natalia Yegorova got married. They had three children: their son Yegor-Daniel was born in 2000, followed by Elizabeth-Victoria (2002) and Max (2005) – named after the German boxing icon Max Schmeling (1905-2005).
Natalia and Vitali Klitschko are committed to their country of origin, Ukraine. Most recently, she collected donations for the Klitschko Foundation’s “We are all Ukrainians 2022” campaign.
