US musician Lizzo (35), who defends herself against allegations by three dancers who have accused her of mistreatment, may face further allegations.
The dancers’ attorney, Ron Zambrano, said Wednesday that he had received requests from at least six other people with similar allegations. These claims would now be examined. Among other things, it is about a sexualized working environment and outstanding payment, according to the message that is available to the German Press Agency.
Last week, three dancers filed a lawsuit against Lizzo in a Los Angeles court. The working environment at Lizzo’s concerts is characterized by an “over-sexualized atmosphere” and there have been incidents of discrimination and sexual harassment, they claim.
“I don’t normally respond to false accusations, but these are as incredible as they sound and too outrageous not to respond,” Lizzo wrote on Instagram last Thursday. “These hyped stories come from former employees who have publicly admitted to being told their behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional.” She takes nothing more seriously than respect for women, Lizzo continued. The allegations hurt her.
The musician, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, released her debut studio album “Cuz I Love You” in 2019. She is also a classically trained flute player and rapper.
