After the interrupted performance by Tokio Hotel at the Deichbrand music festival near Cuxhaven, the band and organizers want to try to organize another performance. “We promise you that both we and the band will do our best to catch up on this performance at the Deichbrand Festival,” wrote the festival team on their Instagram channel on Saturday. It was not clear when exactly the performance should be rescheduled.

According to the organizers’ Instagram post, there was an “irreparable technical defect” at the concert. The band left the stage on Friday evening after a few songs and only returned at the end of the planned season to play the hit “Durch den Monsun” with a reduced cast.

Tokio Hotel reported on Saturday night with a video on Instagram. “We are devastated,” said singer Bill Kaulitz in English. It was not possible for them to get back on stage. At the beginning of the show, which was supposed to last about an hour, he said: “This is our very first festival in Germany ever.” Because of the technical problems, many fans left the concert.

The model Heidi Klum accompanied the band at the performance. She is married to guitarist Tom Kaulitz. Before the start of the show, she followed the band up the stairs to the stage in a black and white outfit and wearing large sunglasses. In her Instagram story she then shared videos taken next to the stage.
