Melanie Brown (48) aka Mel B reveals her wedding plans. If she ties her fiancé Rory McPhee, she may wear a wedding dress designed by Spice Girl colleague Victoria Beckham (49). The Brit said that in an interview with “Hello!” magazine. It will be Brown’s third marriage.
According to the report, a year after getting engaged, Mel B is planning for the big day. The couple would like to tie the knot in London’s venerable St. Paul’s Cathedral, where many royal events have taken place. Charles (74) and Diana (1961-1997) got married there around 1981. “We’ve done all the paperwork and are waiting for them to come back with available appointments,” the singer said. She has also made plans for her bridal gown: “Well, Victoria said she would like to make me a dress.” But that alone doesn’t seem to be enough for her: “But I don’t want just one thing; I want to have many different dresses for that day or for a week of celebrations.”
She has known her future husband for many years. However, the singer and the hairdresser only got together in 2019 after she returned to the UK from the US for the Spice Girls reunion tour. Last year he proposed to her at the Cliveden House Hotel. On the TV show “Celebrity Gogglebox” the Spice Girl made her engagement official in October 2022 and revealed how her partner, 13 years her junior, asked for her hand in marriage during a trip to the county of Berkshire near London: “There were rose petals everywhere, a wood fire – it was so romantic.”
Mel B already has a lot of relationship experience: from 1998 to 2000 she was married to professional dancer Jimmy Gulzar (48), with whom she has daughter Phoenix Chi (24). Angel (16) followed from a short liaison (without marriage) with comedian Eddie Murphy (62). From 2007 to 2018, the musician was the wife of TV producer Stephen Belafonte (48). Together they share custody of 12-year-old Madison. The separation from Belafonte turned into a mud fight. Mel B accused her ex-husband of emotionally and physically abusing her. He, on the other hand, described her as a “dangerous liar”. Despite these negative experiences, she wants to risk a third marriage. She assumes that she will be lucky the third time, she now told “Hello!”.
