The recently begun filming of the 18th season of “Der Bergdoktor” in Going am Wilden Kaiser in the Austrian Tyrol was overshadowed by an accident at the location of the shoot. On Tuesday, April 30th, around noon (1:40 p.m.), a maypole fell over on the village square due to a gust of wind, hit a crane and finally hit a boy on the ground who was riding a scooter. The Tyrol State Police Department reported this in a statement.
The seven-year-old “suffered serious injuries to his foot and injuries of an unspecified degree to his face,” the police wrote. He was taken to the hospital in Innsbruck by a rescue helicopter.
The maypole also hit a nearby building and a vehicle, causing “significant” damage. The village square was temporarily closed. Investigations into the circumstances of the accident are still ongoing.
“Bergdoktor” actress Ronja Forcher (27), who has played the role of Lilli Gruber in the series since 2008, has already spoken on Instagram. “It is with great shock that I have just learned of the accident in Going,” she wrote in a story. “Incredible! Luckily no one died.” Her thoughts are with the boy and his family, she wishes the child a “get well soon” and “all the best.”
