Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey (53) and his family are helping the residents of the island of Maui after the forest fires. The actor posted a video on Instagram in which he can be seen with his eldest son Levi (15). In the short clip, father and son explain that together with the organization “Baby2Baby” they are organizing an emergency plane to provide children and families on the Hawaiian island with emergency supplies.
“We are grateful to be able to help bring these important things to the children and families who need them,” the video commented. The organization that the McConaughey family works with works with local partners on Maui. They would know exactly what the people there need most urgently after the devastating forest fires, according to the 53-year-old in the video. In addition, the two McConaugheys asked to support the organization “Baby2Baby” with donations.
Matthew McConaughey, his wife Camila Alves (41) and their son Levi are not the only celebrities who are currently campaigning for emergency aid for the people of Maui. Actor Jason Momoa (44) regularly posts updates about the conditions on the island and ways to support the local population on his Instagram channel. He also urged his followers not to travel to Maui for vacation at the moment.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (51) also commented on the disaster on Instagram. The Hawaii-born actor let his fans know that his heart was broken. In his post, he thanked for the support provided so far and also called for further donations.
