Hollywood star Jeremy Renner wanted to clear the road to his Tahoe home. He doesn’t use a shovel or snow blower for this, Renner had bought a full-blown Kässbohrer snow groomer. A track-driven, heavy-duty clearing vehicle. About 4,000 meters from his house, the snow plow rolls over Renner’s leg. It is currently not known whether there was an operating error or a technical defect.

One of his neighbors told the TMZ portal that the snowcat drove over Renner’s leg. Renner is said to have lost a lot of blood immediately. Luckily, another neighbor came to his aid, a doctor. He was able to stop the bleeding with a tourniquet and stabilize him until paramedics arrived. Renner was then flown to the hospital by helicopter. Jeremy Renner’s rep confirmed to TMZ that Renner’s leg wasn’t the only injury: “The actor suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and underwent surgery on Monday and is in critical but stable condition in intensive care.” He will have to undergo a second operation.

In a statement, Renner’s family expressed their gratitude to a multitude of people, “including the doctors and nurses caring for him, as well as Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano families and Murdock. The family is enormously overwhelmed and grateful for the love and support from his fans.”

The police later secured the snow plow. A new video shows the device being hauled away by a tugboat for inspection. A police spokesman explained that the machine actually has numerous safety mechanisms and should not have started rolling. Such machines are also used on steep slopes and are designed to be able to stop safely at any point.
