When Maria Jane Hyde was nine years old, the dance teacher said to Hyde’s mother: “The girl has to go to drama school!” A short time later, Maria Jane Hyde secretly went to auditions in school uniform – and at the age of only 15 landed a role on “Starlight Express ” in London. As a so-called swing, she rehearsed various roles as an understudy. At 18, she moved to Bochum for the lead role in “Pearl”. She is currently racing across the stage again on roller skates – this time as “Mama”. All the actors in the Musicals carry roles underfoot because they embody trains competing against each other in a competition.
