Netflix has announced the date for the fifth season reunion show “Love is Blind” (in Germany: “Liebe macht blind”). “Save the date because the ‘Love is Blind’ season five reunion special is coming and you won’t want to miss it,” writes the streaming service, which will air the reunion starting Sunday, October 15 (8PM ET /5PM PT) wants to show on Instagram. This time there will be no live stream when the candidates of the dating show meet.
In April 2023, an attempt to broadcast live failed. The streaming service wanted to broadcast the reunion show of its successful dating format live in the USA. But the users who accessed the stream at the announced time saw nothing. The broadcast was only available after an hour – in recorded form. According to media reports, some users still reported delays.
Netflix apologized via X to users in different time zones in the United States. “To everyone who stayed up late, got up early, sacrificed their Sunday afternoon: We’re incredibly sorry that the ‘Love Is Blind’ live reunion didn’t turn out as we planned,” it said the text. “We are currently filming it and will be showing it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thanks and apologies.”
In the announcement video for the reunion show for season five, the streaming service jokes about the glitch. To do this, an employee crosses out the word “live” again on a stand with the inscription “Live Reunion Today”. The clip continues: “It’s not live, but you can’t miss it.” The final episode before the reunion should be available to watch from Friday, October 13th.
In the format moderated by couple Vanessa (42) and Nick Lachey (49), singles flirt in separate cabins without seeing each other. If the chemistry is right and a special connection is built, they get engaged and only then see their chosen one for the first time at a big meeting. The engaged couple then has to deal with the reality check in everyday life and plan the wedding. It is decided at the altar whether love is really blind. The first season premiered in February 2020.
