Two days before the highest level of security applies in the eco-village of Brodowin, before the camera teams arrive and Prince, er, King Charles, trudges through the cowshed in rubber boots, Ludolf von Maltzahn stands in the toilet house between the farm shop and the dairy and points to the water tap: “Is that okay actually already?” Next to him painters are painting the cabins, eggshell colour, three men for three toilets, it has to be done quickly. Test again whether the doors can be locked. Works. The water is running too. Now all that’s left to do is let the paint dry. “It turned out great,” says Katja von Maltzahn.
