King Charles III celebrates on Tuesday. On his 75th birthday, on November 13th, the British monarch invited people to a small tea party at the Highgrove House country estate in Gloucestershire. There the king not only welcomed numerous guests, but apparently also enjoyed a piece of cake.
A wide variety of people from the community were invited – including individuals and organizations who are also celebrating their 75th birthday this year. There were also some famous faces on site. According to the British BBC, the invitation was followed by, among others, the chef Raymond Blanc (73), the singer Leee John (66) and Jay Blades (53), who, among other things, presents the TV show “The Repair Shop”.
Charles visited Blades last year in a special broadcast of the format. The show’s team restored an 18th-century clock and a piece of ceramics from the Diamond Jubilee period of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) for the king. “He is the new king, but he is also about the community, he has always been about the community,” Blades has now explained. King Charles III I always thought ahead about what could be done for the environment – and involved people from the community. He described the monarch as a “trailblazer” and a “man who really brought about change.”
Last but not least, the king, who was in a great mood, also had to cut a three-tiered birthday cake, as can be seen in pictures from the event. He also received, among other things, a “Happy Birthday” sung by a local choir.
However, Charles apparently doesn’t want to celebrate too much on his special day. According to British media reports, he wanted to spend his birthday with his loved ones in London’s Clarence House – with family and close friends. His second son, Prince Harry (39), will probably not be there.
As both the US magazine “People” and “Messenger” reported about a week ago, citing a royal spokesman, Harry allegedly did not receive an invitation. So he probably won’t be traveling from California, where he lives with his wife, Duchess Meghan (42), and their children Archie (4) and Lilibet (2). Prince Harry’s relationship with his father and his older brother, Prince William (41), is considered tense. Since moving to the United States, Harry and Meghan have criticized the royal family widely in several interviews, a Netflix documentary and in the prince’s autobiography.
