Will everything work out when Charles III. (74) is crowned and the eyes of the world are upon him? The “Telegraph” reports that Charles has only rehearsed the course of the 90-minute procedure once. A scale stage was set up in Buckingham Palace for this “informal rehearsal”. However, the king had not yet worn the lavish robes. With this information, rumors of planning chaos should be refuted.
“The Sun” had previously reported massive problems and delays in preparing for the historic event. Accordingly, Charles complained about the heavy robes during a fitting. Since then, the organizing team was afraid that the king might stumble at the coronation. Therefore, an emergency ramp was commissioned to be placed over the steps to the throne. The Telegraph now quotes a palace spokesman as stressing that this ramp “was part of the design from the start, not for fear of the king stumbling”.
In the next few days, a number of smaller rehearsals are to take place in Westminster Abbey. The dress rehearsal is scheduled for April 29, reports the Telegraph.
