King Charles III (74) clearly enjoyed his recent appointment in the small town of Pickering near North Yorkshire. For his arrival, the monarch took the opportunity to ride the Royal Train, which was hauled by the famous Flying Scotsman steam locomotive, which celebrated its 100th anniversary on Monday. “What a wonderful way to come to Pickering,” the royal family’s Instagram account said.
Upon his arrival, Charles was beaming from ear to ear as crowds of townsfolk and onlookers greeted him with cheers and applause. For his appointment, the king chose a beige suit, underneath which he wore a light pink shirt, a dark red patterned tie, a white boutonniere and a white and red handkerchief – a thoroughly summery look.
On site, he greeted the townspeople and also entered some small shops. In addition, Charles unveiled a plaque made for the 50th anniversary of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
