King Charles III (73) and Queen Camilla (75) have been seen in public for the first time since the Queen’s state funeral (1926-2022). Photos obtained by Britain’s DailyMail show the pair in the back seat of a car on their way to Crathie Kirk Church in Scotland, near Balmoral Castle, where the Queen died on September 8 at the age of 96 .
The small parish church is one of those places that the royals regularly visit when they reside at Balmoral Castle. According to the report, Charles and Camilla attended a service there on Sunday. The pictures show her in elegant black clothes, Charles in a suit and Camilla in a chic suit with festive headgear and a plaid tartan skirt. The king and queen consort returned to the property in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, about five days ago.
Charles recently officially began his work as the new king – and that in the midst of the official mourning phase of the royal family, which is expected to last until Monday. A photo released by Buckingham Palace on Friday (September 23) showed the monarch seated at his desk, next to his late mother’s red box. It has traditionally been used to store important documents and papers from ministers from the UK.
