The fashion world has to say goodbye to Jürgen Hartmann. The star designer died at the age of 91 in a hospital in Hamburg Barmbek. This is reported by the “Bild” newspaper, citing Hartmann’s long-time friend, presenter and actress Heidrun von Goessel (79). She said in a statement: “We have all lost a wonderful friend, the sadness is great.” The NDR also reports on Hartmann’s death.

The fashion designer is said to have recently lived in Alsterdorf and to have suffered from heart disease. According to NDR, Hartmann was born in Parchim in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1932 and fled from Parchim to Hamburg in 1949. He found a job as a tailor and over the years made a name for himself in Hamburg society. He also devoted himself to his passion, singing.
