The family of actor Julian Sands (65), who has been missing for eleven days, has spoken out. The family thanked those involved in the search in a statement via the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Twitter account.

The family not only paid tribute to the “compassionate members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department,” but also to the “heroic search teams who braved the difficult conditions on the ground and in the air to bring Julian home.” Below that, relatives listed the various groups involved in the search for the performer. Among them is a search dog squadron and a team of cave rescuers.

Julian Sands’ family also wrote that they were “deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support” they have received since the actor’s disappearance.

Born in Britain, he has been married to journalist Eugenia Citkowitz (59) since 1990. The couple have two daughters, Natalya (26) and Imogen (23). Julian Sands has son Henry (37) from his first marriage.

In the tweet, the sheriff’s office promises to continue searching for the missing person: “We will continue to use the resources available to us.” The police also thanked all the helpers for “the sheer determination and selflessness”.

On January 13, his family reported Julian Sands missing. The actor had not returned from a hike on Mount San Antonio. His car was found covered in snow, but there was no sign of Sands. Authorities had previously warned of “extremely dangerous” conditions. In addition to the actor, a 75-year-old man is missing.
