Mourning for Josephine Chaplin (1949-2023): The American actress died in Paris on July 13 at the age of 74. This is reported by the French daily “Le Figaro”, citing the family of the deceased. Josephine Chaplin was one of the eleven children of comedian legend Charlie Chaplin (1889-1977) and a successful actress herself. Her three sons Charly, Julien and Arthur are sad “to have to announce her death,” the statement said.

Josephine Chaplin was born in Santa Monica, California, in March 1949, the second daughter of Charlie Chaplin and Oona O’Neill (1925-1991). She was the British actor’s fourth wife. Even as a small child, Josephine Chaplin was in front of the camera for the film “Limelight” (1952), which was directed by her father.

In 1972 she appeared in the production “Pasolini’s Daredevil Stories” alongside Hugh Griffith (1912-1980) and Laura Betti (1927-2004). This was followed by the film “Jack the Ripper – Der Dirnenmörder von London” (1974) alongside Klaus Kinski (1926-1991) and Andreas Mannkopff (1939-2015). She was last seen in 1987 in “Hemingway,” a four-part TV movie.

Josephine Chaplin has been married three times. One child was born from each marriage. She lived in France for a long time, where she now closed her eyes forever. The funeral will take place in Paris with the family.
