Jonathan Majors, 34, is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in March. He will probably have to appear in court in just a few weeks. However, Jabbari himself has now been arrested, as US media consistently report.
A spokesman for the New York Police Department confirmed to People magazine that Majors’ former girlfriend would have to appear in court to respond to the allegations. According to the report, she was charged with assault and criminal damage. However, the public prosecutor’s office has already confirmed that the allegations should not be prosecuted.
Jabbari’s lawyer said in a statement that they were disappointed that his client was arrested, even though the public prosecutor’s office found it unjustified. The lawyer examined the case and, according to the lawyer, came to the conclusion “that Ms. Jabbari was the victim and not the perpetrator.”
Majors was accused of domestic violence after an alleged altercation in March. According to Variety, a police statement said, among other things, that the woman told police officers after an attack that she had been taken to hospital with “minor injuries to her head and neck.” However, a spokesman for Majors denied the allegations.
The actor, known for films such as “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “Creed III – Rocky’s Legacy”, claims that he is the alleged victim in the case – and not his ex-girlfriend. He first appeared in court in June, which originally set a trial date for early August. According to “Insider,” Majors is said to have filed a domestic violence complaint with the police himself.
Majors was briefly arrested in March after the incident and is charged with multiple counts of harassment and assault. After several back and forths, the process is now expected to begin on November 29th, as the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” reports.
