US President Joe Biden (80) welcomed the wedding guests for the marriage of his granddaughter Naomi Biden (28) in the White House on Saturday (November 19). The daughter of his son Robert Hunter Biden (52) and Peter Neal (25) said yes in the President’s official seat of government. The two work as lawyers.
The proud grandfather and his wife Jill Biden (71) took the opportunity to congratulate the newlywed couple. On Instagram, the two posted a picture together with the bride and groom. Joe Biden is to the left of the 28-year-old. Like her husband, he wears a blue suit. The bride is wearing a gorgeous lace wedding dress. She combined pearl earrings and a long veil. In the photo she is holding the bridal bouquet in her hands. The First Lady linked arms with the groom and opted for a teal coat. A bracelet of flowers can be seen on her wrist, matching the bride’s bouquet.
The President and the teacher write: “Congratulations, Naomi and Peter! We love you.” It was the first time a president’s granddaughter had walked into the iconic Washington D.C. building. was allowed to marry. According to the White House, Neal and Biden exchanged vows at 11 a.m. on the South Lawn of the White House in the presence of around 250 guests.
It was a joy for the US President and First Lady to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is and build such an incredible life. “We are proud that she has chosen Peter to be her husband,” they said. It is an honor for both of them to welcome him into their family. “We wish them days of laughter and a love that grows with each passing year,” the White House website said.
For Joe Biden, it’s just one of two celebratory occasions this weekend. On Sunday (November 20th) the President turned 80 years old.
