US President Joe Biden (80) is expected in London this Sunday at the start of his five-day trip to Europe, before continuing to the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, on July 11 and 12. However, before his short official trip, the 46th President of the United States enjoyed a relaxing day at the beach in his home state of Delaware yesterday (July 9th).
Together with his wife Jill Biden (72) and granddaughter Finnegan Biden (22), the 80-year-old visited a public bathing beach near the city of Rehoboth Beach, always flanked by a bunch of Secret Service agents.
Biden was photographed heading to the sea in a pair of blue swim trunks with a sea turtle print. He also wore a white polo shirt, a blue peaked cap and his signature aviator sunglasses. The Bidens then made themselves comfortable on deck chairs by the sea. The US President was engrossed in a book while Secret Service agents scanned other beachgoers with a metal detector, according to pictures available to the Daily Mail. After a few hours of sunbathing, the Bidens then left the beach.
Joe and Jill Biden have owned an oceanfront home in the seaside town of Rehoboth Beach for about six years. “Jill and I have dreamed of our entire careers to be able to buy a beachfront home to gather the whole family,” Biden said in the past, according to the Daily Mail. The private primary residence of the presidential family is in Wilmington, about 100 miles away.
