US President Joe Biden (80) and King Charles III. (74) met at Windsor Castle.

With military honors, the US anthem and the British national anthem, Biden was received by the monarch in front of the impressive backdrop of the palace. Biden wore a royal blue suit while Charles wore a slightly lighter colored pinstripe suit.

The two men greeted each other with a handshake and apparently joked with each other in a good mood. They then posed in the Great Corridor of Windsor Castle. The conversation that followed was over a cup of tea. Among other things, it should have been about climate protection.

Pictures of the meeting were also shared on the royal family’s official social media channels. “Welcome to Great Britain” is what it says about a link from the US President.

It was Joe Biden’s first meeting with King Charles since his coronation, which the President failed to attend. Instead, Biden’s wife Jill (72) attended as a guest.

Biden will attend the NATO summit in Lithuania Tuesday and Wednesday. Before meeting the king, he had already met British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (43) in London.
