She will not rest. That’s what Britney Spears says through her mouthpiece Instagram and she also proves it with her current behavior. Since her father’s guardianship ended in 2021, the singer has spoken openly about how she was bullied by her family. On Tuesday, Spears again posted five note slides full of spicy allegations, but almost all of the postings were deleted shortly thereafter.

The recently revoked lines were mainly about body shaming and loss of self-confidence. Her message began with the words: “My family ruined my damn life”, she recounts situations in which she was guarded around the clock: “My mother and father watched over me in my hotel room on a visit to London, they treated me like a dog.” Behaviors towards her from which the “Hold me closer” singer suffers to this day and which cost her a lot of self-confidence.

Her father Jamie Spears guardianship lasted 13 years. Spears has not been able to make independent decisions about her life for over a decade, but in addition to the incapacitation, there seem to have been many situations in which Britney Spears was put down and bullied by her family: “You destroyed my confidence, my father always told me that I was too fat. I’ve never felt pretty or good enough. I’ve always been scared of him, that’s probably what made me the ‘ugliest’.” Britney Spears’ father also compared her body to her boyfriend’s at the time and told her clearly that while he had a perfect body, she still had a lot of work to do.

Britney Spears also said in the posts that her father was apparently an alcoholic: “He was never a father to me because he was just drunk all the time”. Since the end of guardianship, Spears has often posted very revealing photos, for which she has also been publicly criticized several times. Her ex-husband Kevin Federline and her own sons have also spoken out against this form of imagery. But Spears stands by her nude pictures and explains the background and connection to her past: “I’m telling you this because now I’m trying to present myself beautiful and perfect, but only because I know how it feels to be ugly and intimidated feel. (…) I’m sharing these photos with you to show myself that I wasn’t and am not ugly.”

Her experiences also apparently brought Spears to far-reaching insights: “Men often only pay attention to the outside of a woman, we all know that. But I’m trying to work on what my inside looks like now. (…) I hope that one day I also feel beautiful inside, my father did an extremely good job of always pushing me down”. The 40-year-old still wonders, “Do some men feed off treating the person they love in a way that makes them feel empty and ugly?”

Finally, Britney Spears addressed her followers: “Women who aim high and have dreams must always endure the greed and hostility of men. Anyway, ladies, feel beautiful today.” A short time later, however, she deleted all postings.

But a post with a spicy outing remained. Alongside a video of a scene from the movie Monster-in-Law, Spears admitted she was also physically abused. Coming home from a night out with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan while her mother was babysitting during the Federline breakup phase, her mother Lynn Spears slapped her in the face: “I partied until 4am and my mother was pissed off. I walked in, she looked at me and slapped me so hard, I’ll never forget that! I’ve been wondering ever since what it must feel like to smack someone. I guess I’ll never know. Keep it nice guys.”
