Donald Trump (77) has to answer in court in the US state of Georgia for attempted election fraud. The former President of the United States has now pleaded “not guilty” in this case as well, according to recent court documents available to “CNN”, among others.
It also shows that Trump does not want to appear in person at the indictment hearing, which is scheduled for September 6. Trump was charged in Georgia along with 18 other people. He is accused of wanting to influence the outcome of the 2020 US presidential election, in which Joe Biden (80) was victorious. There is no fixed court date in the case.
Trump is the first US ex-president to face criminal charges. The Georgia case is one of four trials for which Trump, who still does not acknowledge the election defeat, must prepare. He rejects all allegations and speaks of a politically motivated attempt to keep him from another term in the White House.
The 77-year-old also has to admit his role in the storming of the US Capitol in Washington, D.C. answer in court on January 6, 2021 – and in an affair about the taking of secret documents. He is accused, among other things, of having kept secret documents illegally and intentionally in his private estate Mar-a-Lago in Florida after his term of office. The two processes are expected to start in March 2024 and May 2024 respectively.
